Some kiddos need a hand on their back to get over the beam
Or two hands. Or a coach right beside them for the whole class. That is exactly what this class is for.
Mighty Sharks is our gymnastics class for kids 5 to 9 with developmental delays, neurological diagnoses or tone differences, the kiddos who need more support, more prompting, or just more time to get there. Two kids per coach, so nobody waits long for a turn and nobody gets left on the sideline.
Designed by an OT, coached by her and Coach Melana together
It's part of Sharks in Motion, and like the rest of the program it was designed by Steph, a pediatric occupational therapist who has spent the last ten years working with kids with sensory and physical needs. She coaches every class right alongside Coach Melana, our head gymnastics coach.
Parents can stay on the mat, and your child's therapist is welcome too.
